Cardiovascular diseases continue to be the leading cause of death among widespread diseases. The CVD.NRW lighthouse is dedicated to networking in the field of cardiovascular diseases in North Rhine-Westphalia as a central point of orientation.
What is the CVD.NRW lighthouse?
Together with interdisciplinary players from research and development in the field of cardiovascular diseases, the Cluster Medizin.NRW has established the CVD.NRW lighthouse. The lighthouse serves as a central networking and organizational platform and forms:
- a common umbrella for strategic issues,
- the starting point for position papers and white papers,
- the framework for joint applications for funding, and
- the basis for joint collaborative projects and infrastructures.
Who are the target groups for the lighthouse?
The CVD.NRW lighthouse brings together researchers from
- Clinics,
- universities,
- companies,
- research institutions and
- other players together.
The common goal is to create innovations for better prevention, diagnosis, therapy and aftercare of cardiovascular diseases. Stakeholders from a wide range of disciplines are represented in the lighthouse:
- Cardiology
- Cardiac surgery
- Bioanalytics
- Stem cell research
- Electrical engineering
- Materials science
- Basic medical research
- Toxicology
In addition, stakeholders from all disciplines are still welcome to participate in the Lighthouse. Experienced scientists as well as young scientists are addressed.
